Nitesh Tiwari’s adaptation of Ramayan is one of the most talked about films. Hrithik Roshan and Mahesh Babu are reportedly playing the lead roles in this film. It will be a three-part Ramayan retelling and as per reports the makers are looking for a perfect cast for it. While it is reported that Hrithik Roshan and Mahesh Babu will play the leads in this film, many had been waiting to know the names of the female leads. Now, as per reports in PeepingMoon.com, both Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepika Padukone are in the running to play the role of Sita in the big ticket multi-starrer. Yes, you heard that right.

Kareena Kapoor Khan was supposed to be a part of Karan Johar's mythological film, Takht but the film is now shelved. However, the actress is next looking to play a mythological character, especially since she already played the role of Princess Kaurwaki in Asoka opposite Shah Rukh Khan. If she is the one who will play the lead, she will become the highest-paid actress since the budget of the film is said to be huge. Talking about Deepika Padukone, we have seen her playing mythological character like Mastani, Padmavati in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films. She was supposed to do Draupadi which is her own production but the film is now on the backburner. She is also looking to revive Draupadi with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and in the meanwhile in line for Tiwari’s directorial. However, if she joins Ramayan, she will have to let go Draupadi and vice versa.

Well, it will be interesting to see who will be playing the role of Sita in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayan. Recently, Deepika Padukone reportedly tested COVID-19 positive. An official confirmation on behalf of the actress is awaited. Earlier, her father, badminton icon Prakash Padukone had to be admitted to hospital due to high fever. He had tested positive. The actress's mother Ujjala Padukone and younger sister Anisha have also tested positive for COVID-19.
