After actor Kangna Ranaut picked on Karan Johar for nepotism on his popular chat show Koffee With Karan Season 5, it became the most discussed topic in the Hindi film industry. Post the show everyone in the industry began to speak about it, and most of them that their own views on nepotism. From every newcomer to every veteran this question was put across and while some agreed to the fact that nepotism exists, the others conveniently denied the fact.
Star kids do have the benefit of easy approach and easy debut while the outsiders have a hard time making it in Bollywood. One such outsider Anushka Sharma who made it big in Bollywood right after her first film in Bollywood 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' opposite Shah Rukh Khan has a different take on nepotism.
Star kids are often accused of being a part of nepotism and getting it all easy, but recently when Anushka was asked about nepotism and star kids, she reportedly said that this topic of discussion has become old, people have spoken a lot about it. The actress stated that everyone is debating nepotism and she has nothing to add to it. She further added that when she works with a star kid or a non-star kid, she does not think that the other person is working any less.
Apparently, the 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' actor stated that people should not blame the actors for nepotism. They can blame the people who are responsible for nepotism, but not actors or star kids for it. At the end of the day, all that people want is the acknowledgement that yes, there’s a sense that nepotism exists, but Anushka thinks beyond that it’s just a useless conversation.
Anushka Sharma as an outsider has carved a niche for herself and has been a part of successful films like 'PK', 'Dil Dhadakne Do', 'Sultan', and 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' to name a few. She was last seen in Sui Dhaaga opposite Varun Dhawan, the film opened to decent reviews. She has another film coming up titled 'Zero' co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, directed by Aanand L Rai, the film is scheduled to release on December 21, 2018.
