Actors and actresses playing teachers is not a new deal in South cinema and we have seen it often. From Venkatesh in Sundara Kanda to Chiranjeevi in Master, many top stars have donned roles as school teachers and college lecturers. From Jyothika in Kaakha Kaakha to Sai Pallavi in Premam, many actresses too have played teachers and looked perfect to the T in their roles. As the whole country celebrates Teacher’s Day today, we quickly run a poll and look at the actresses who looked the best in the role of a teacher.

Playing a school teacher in Gautham Menon directorial Kaakha Kaakha, Jyothika looked stunning and gorgeous. Sporting simple cotton sarees and minimal makeup, Jyothika looked simple yet beautiful, and perfect as a teacher. The 2004 release Kaakha Kaakha was one of the best films in the career of Jyothika.

Sai Pallavi:

Playing a young lecturer in Premam, Sai Pallavi as Malar was a revelation in South cinema. Appearing in simple sarees and speaking mostly with the eyes, the young doctor turned actress took the South Indian circles by storm with her act as a teacher. There would be few who would not be aware of Malar in Premam.

Shruti Haasan:

Shruti Haasan reprised Sai Pallavi’s role in the Telugu remake of Premam and was seen doing a bit of an adjustment to the look. Although the simple saree look was retained, there were couple of changes in terms of her dance act and some tweaks in the looks. The Haasan girl too looked pretty in the role of a teacher in Telugu Premam.

So, who’s your pick for this poll? Who looked the best in the role of a teacher/lecturer? Vote now and tweet to us!
