Salman Khan name is synonymous with controversies. After the actor was targeted by the Bishnoi community in the blackbuck poaching case, the recent accusations come from Valmiki community. An FIR was filed in as many as six states against the Tiger Zinda Hai actor after he was accused of making derogatory comments against the community. Today, the proceedings of the same will continue in Supreme Court today after Salman Khan sought the quashing of these FIRs.

It all started during the promotions of Ali Abbas Zafar’s directorial, Tiger Zinda Hai when Salman Khan was a celebrity guest on Shilpa Shetty’s reality show. A comment made by the actor and Shilpa offended the Valmiki community and they sought legal help after they found it objectionable. Post this, numerous FIRs were registered against the duo in different states including Rajasthan and Delhi. Though the issue fizzled out too soon, the actor, along with his legal team now wants to quash all these FIRs.

As per the latest development, the bench headed by the Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, will take the proceedings forward over Salman Khan’s plea. After Salman moved the court for his plea, his lawyers also sought the court’s help requesting them to order the state governments as well as police departments to not register any more complaints on the case. So, in previous court hearings, it had stayed all cases filed against the actor and had even asked the complainants to submit all the necessary documents regarding the case. What needs to be noted here is the verdict may or may not rule in the actor’s favour.
