Lata Mangeshkar: RD Burman's music will always be alive

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar and the 22nd anniversary of the legendary composer RD Burman pay tribute to them, saying that their music will always be preferred. Burman Asha Bhosle, Lata's sister was married. He worked with the sisters and the many hit songs.

Burman, who was married to Mangeshkar's sister Asha Bhosle, collaborated with both the sisters and gave many chart topping numbers. "Today is R D Burman's (Pancham) 22nd death anniversary. Pancham's music and memories are alive even today and I am sure his music will continue to spread magic in future too. My heartfelt tribute to Pancham," Mangeshkar tweeted.

The 85-year-old singer teamed up with Burman on songs like 'Aaja Piya Tohe Pyar Doon', 'Agar Tum Na Hote', 'Mere Naina Sawan Bhadon', 'Raina Beeti Jaye', 'Tujhse Naraz Nahin Zindagi' among others. Burman died on January 4, 1994. His last work was seen in '1942: A Love Story', which released after his demise.
