Happy Birthday Deepika Padukone : Bollywood’s journey 'Om Shanti Om' to 'Bajirao Mastani'

Bollywood's dimple Glamour Queen or Queen says, is not a lack of talent ,, which is the name of their Deepika Padukone. Yes, millions of people their 'Lovely' making crazy with the Saturday night Mastani Deepika was born January 5 1986 in Denmark. Her father Prakash Padukone Legendary player and his mother was white Bedminton a travel agent. After graduating, she started modeling, and in 2005 he became a model of success models of the Year Award. Then in 2006 came a Kingfisher calendar, thereby raising and Deepika Padukone's fame and movie offers started to come gradually.
 
Actress Deepika Padukone made her debut in the film industry with 'Om Shanti Om' opposite Shah Rukh in the year 2007. Ever since there has been no stopping the reigning queen. She has given the Indian cinema some of the best films like 'Bajirao Mastani', 'Ram Leela' , Piku and many more. One of the highest paid actress in Bollywood, Deepika has made her place in the industry on her own. Her hard work and perseverance is seen though her films. With a huge fan following, she has entered the league of the most desired actresses by the filmmakers. On her 30th birthday, here's a look at her movie career.


Daughter of badminton player Prakash Padukone, Deepika also played the game during her teen age. She later left her badminton career to foray into modeling until she got her first acting assignment in a Kannada film titled 'Aishwarya' in 2006. A year after her first break in regional cinema, Deepika bagged a role in 'Om Shanti Om' for which she also earned the Filmfare award for Best Debut that year.


Deepika came into limelight after her first Bollywood film and thereafter started receiving good offers. Her films 'Love Aaj Kal' which released in 2009 and 2010 release 'Lafangey Parindey' showcased her in a romantic role earned praise. 

'Bachna Ae Haseeno' was Deepika Padukone's second movie in Bollywood in which she romanced her then boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor for the first time. It was at that time that the couple went public with their affair and Deepika also got the initials of his name tattooed on the nape of her neck. The couple dated each other for a year. The couple has maintained cordial relationship since then and the duo have been seen in movies like 'Tamasha' and 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' post their break up. 

After doing a double role in her first Bollywood film, Deepika Padukone was seen in a double role once again in 2009 release 'Chandni Chowk to China', which starred Akshay Kumar. 

Deepika romanced Farhan Akhtar for the first time in critically acclaimed movie 'Karthik Calling Karthik' in 2010. Though the film was not a commercial hit, it got good response and was declared a watchable film by the film critics. 
2010 was a busy year for Deepika as she was seen in 'Housefull', 'Lafangey Parindey', 'Break Ke Baad' and 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey'. 


2011 was also a smooth sailing year for the actress as we saw her in totally different avatars in Prakash Jha's 'Aarakshan' and Rohit Dhawan's 'Desi Boyz'. Deepika romanced John Abraham in the latter.

Later in 2012, Deepika bagged a role in Homi Adajania's 'Cocktail' also starring Saif Ali Khan and Diana Penty. The film was a turning point in her career. She was also nominated in most of the awards ceremonies for the film. 

2013 was again a rising year in her Bollywood career and she gave three back-to-back hits. She was seen romancing former boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in Ayan Mukherjee's 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewai'. Later that year, she romanced Shah Rukh Khan in Rohit Shetty's 'Chennai Express' which was a superhit. Deepika ended the year on a high note as her film 'Ram-Leela' with rumoured beau Ranveer Singh got a thumbs up at the box office. Her acting skills were appreciated by critics and she bagged all the awards that year for her performance.

Deepika was nominated for the Best Actress Filmfare Award for the films Chennai Express and Ram-Leela and won an award for the latter. 



She also lent her voice to her character in Rajinikant's Tamil fiction 'Kochadaiiyan' in 2014. She also made heads turn with the film 'Finding Fanny' also starring Arjun Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah.


Deepika was once again seen romancing Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan's hit film 'Happy New Year'. 



And then came 'Piku' which released early in 2015 and brought in words of appreciation for the actress from all over. She portrayed the role of Amitabh Bachchan's daughter in the film. Deepika has won almost all the awards for her performance of Piku this year. 
Deepika, who has won the hearts of many, was also seen romancing Ranbir Kapoor once again onscreen in Imtiaz Ali's 'Tamasha' which released in November 2015. 




Deepika Padukone reunited with her rumoured beau Ranveer Singh and Ram-Leela director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for his magnum opus Bajirao Mastani, which released recently on December 18, 2015. Bajirao Mastani had a slow start at the box office but later picked up pace due to good word of mouth.


Deepika Padukone has also signed a Hollywood project with Vin Diesel. Though the actress has chosen to be mum about it but her pics on social media tell another story.
 
Deepika, who has had a busy 2015, recently said she hasn't signed any movie till now. The actress is currently enjoying a well deserved break with friends and family. Here's wishing the actress success in future and a very happy birthday.
