Superstar Akshay Kumar’s “Airlift” collected Rs. 12.35 cr. on its opening day. The film, which is about the evacuation of Indians during the 1990 invasion of Kuwait by Iraq has been appreciated by the fans and critics alike.

Airlift is being showered with praises! Both the critics and viewers have loved the film and have applauded at Akshay's performance in the movie.

Airlift will obtain the highest opening day collections of 2016 at the Indian Box Office. While usually a Bollywood movie obtains mixed reviews, Airlift has mostly obtained positive reviews which worked in its favor in a huge way. Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 also released on the same day but viewers mostly hated the movie and a huge number of people had done advance booking of their tickets for Airlift's weekend shows.

“Airlift”, directed by Raja Krishna Menon, also stars Nimrat Kaur and Purab Kohli in key roles.

Also, the target audience for both these movies is extremely different, owing to Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 being a sex-comedy, therefore, Airlift's viewership will not get affected and the movie will not face any clash as such at the Box Office. Airlift's occupancy rate was much higher than what Baby movie witnessed in last January.

The film opened with 30-35% occupancy in the multiplexes and did well in most of the metropolitan cities, especially in Delhi and Punjab, Airlift witnessed a good business day.

Airlift broke the opening day record of Rs 9.3 crores earned by Akshay Kumar's Baby!
